- 2009 Sun City Resort, Rustenburg South Africa – Motivation & Sales
“I have had the great fortune of traveling to and speaking in South Africa. First in 2008 at The Sun City Resort in Rustenburg, South Africa for the South African Production and Inventory Control Society – SAPICS. And then again in 2009 at The Sun City Resort again presenting a motivation and sales program to the Resort leadership team and selective staff. My wife and I toured South Africa for 3 weeks on a game Safari to enjoy the wonderful wildlife and South African Savannahs. I have a sincere love and passion for motivational speaking, especially when it takes me to such a wonderful country like South Africa. The richness of the animals, scenic beauty, and the South African people are what made my trips memorable experiences. I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and I am just as dedicated to ensure your event is a tremendous success. I take great pride in my work and have been lucky enough to do what I love for the past two decades. I put many hours of research and practice into each of my keynote presentations so your audience receives the best motivational keynote possible”

Some of Doug’s Speaking Client’s Include:
Why Rustenburg?
Rustenburg is in the Royal Bafokeng Nation, the 630-square-mile homeland of the Bafokeng people, who speak the Setswana language. Nestled beside the Magaliesburg Protected Natural Environment, a wildlife park, Rustenburg is a small settlement of 70,000 people that was the smallest city to host games during the 2010 soccer World Cup, of which Rustenburg event venues still take pride. The city is notable as a gateway to several huge game reserves.
OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) is approximately 60 miles southeast of Rustenburg. Flights there come from all over the world, including from Atlanta, New York and Washington, DC-Dulles.
Dining choices, often beneath a canopy of stars, include the Tumulus and Sterkfontein restaurant, both at the Maropeng Hotel at The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site, the latter having amazing views of caves and other scenery but no dinner service unless arranged in advance; very celebrated Rambling Vine, considered one of South Africa’s best, which is part of the Mount Grace Country Hotel & Spa; the new Armoury Restaurant, which serves South African cuisine at the Kedar Country House, Conference Center & Spa; and the Brauhaus am Damm, which sits in front of a rocky escarpment, brews its own beer and has a formal restaurant with a deck and a German-influenced menu.
Venues
The more easily accessible of the convention venues in Rustenburg’s area is the one at Pretoria, the CSIR International Convention Center, which is approximately 65 miles to the east and has an auditorium for up to 450 persons and an exhibit hall for up to 1,000, although as the crow flies. Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Center, 80 miles to the southeast, is not so much farther, and it has 220,000 square feet of function space on four levels catering to up to 10,000 persons and including The Pavilion hosting up to 4,500 on its own. (The Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site lies between Rustenburg and Johannesburg, which is the cause of the longer journey time by road to Sandton.)
Hotel venues in Rustenburg able to host meetings include the 101-room Sundown Ranch Hotel, which has six meeting rooms able to host up to 120 persons; the 62-room Kedar Country House, Conference Center & Spa, which has eight function rooms for up to 150 persons; the 56-roomSparkling Waters Hotel & Spa, which has six meeting rooms all named for South African birds, with Kingfisher being the largest, able to host 200 persons; the 30-room Askari Game Lodge & Spa, which has a restaurant for 40 persons and a visitors’ center with meeting space for 150 that literally espies passing elephants; and, a little farther east at Hermansburg, the 91-room Hunters Rest Mountain Resort, which sits in hilly land and has four meeting rooms for up to 200 persons.
Unique event venues in Rustenburg include the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, which has conference space and can put on any manner of sportive team building functions. To get out into the wild, plump for organizing something at one of the local game reserves of Groot-Marico, Kgaswane, Madikwe Game Reserve or Pilanesberg. All put on stellar safari tours and can arrange banquets in the bush.
