If you’re like most people, you have days where you don’t want to do anything. Your attitude may change throughout the day based on your upcoming activities, as well. For example, you may be quiet and introverted when you have to go to work in the morning and might perk up significantly when you get to go back home. You may dread getting out of bed when you know you have chores to do, but you may hop out of it when you have a fun day planned.
While it is normal for your attitude to change throughout the days and weeks of your life, you should try to keep a positive outlook and attitude all of the time. A positive attitude helps more than you might think. For example, if you look at chores as the gateway to a relaxing day, you’re more likely to get them done sooner so that you can relax. While planning your day goes a long way in helping you achieve your goals, your attitude also makes a difference.
What Is Attitude Intensity?
Have you ever been so excited about an upcoming event that you couldn’t contain yourself? On the flip side, have you ever been so upset about an upcoming event that you got sick or dreaded going? These extreme attitudes can change the way you look at things. If you dread going to work, you’re not going to perform at your best. In most cases, you will do worse, and the time you spend there will be boring or aggravating. Furthermore, the time you spend before work will even be stressful. This can really build up unnecessary stress levels and create an unhealthy cycle.
Again, it’s normal to want to stay home and sleep or watch television all day, but you know you need to go to work. Instead of focusing on the negatives, think about the positives. It can also be helpful to purposefully be in a good mood throughout the day, so that positivity stays with you throughout the day and hopefully into the next day.
Ways to Change Your Attitude
The first step is to figure out what you want to change. You have to set goals, but before you can do that, you must understand what has to be different. If it is your mindset (thinking you will fail at something instead of being positive and hoping for the best), it can be a little challenging. It’s not impossible, though. Every time you think of something negative, immediately change it around so that it sounds more positive.

Get a Role Model
There’s invariably one (or more) in every office. They’re always chipper, they are happy, and they seem to get things done. Pay close attention to what they do. For some, taking five minutes at the start of the day to organize everything might put them in a better mood. Others might give themselves a few quiet moments to gather their thoughts.
Hire a Motivational Speaker
Of course, if the whole team (or most of them) have poor attitudes, they might just need a boost of morale. There are endless ways to do this, but hiring a motivational speaker might help the entire team. Consider someone who’s funny, personable, and talented and book their services as soon as you can.
