How to Stay Motivated After the Holidays

Knowing how to stay motivated after the holidays is important. There are so many distractions. From spending extra time with the family, to buying and receiving gifts and even making sure you don’t gain too much weight. Here are some simple ideas to help you stay motivated during this time of the year!

1. STRATEGIZEStrategy

By strategizing, you are already ahead of the game. You are thinking about what you need to do to make certain goals become realities. Sitting alone for 10 to 20 minutes every day and planning/strategizing can make you more twice as productive. By the end of your strategizing session you will have a clear idea of what you need to get done.

 

2. SET GOALSSet Goals

Now that you have a clear idea of what needs to get done. Set specific goals that you need to achieve in order to make your strategy happen. Always write your goals down, this way you can look back on them throughout the day to ensure you are staying on track. 3. SET ASIDE LEISURE TIMEleisure

By choosing to set aside personal time to do with as you please you will avoid burning out. You will also give yourself a mental boost in times of stress simply by knowing that you do have leisure time to look forward to.

 

4. READ/WATCH MOTIVATIONAL ARTICLES/VIDEOS

You can download apps, browse the internet or buy a book that has a daily motivational short article. By reading articles on inspiration and motivation you are planting the motivational seeds in your head. These simple articles can provide you with extra bits of motivation throughout the day when it really counts. When you run into a problem, an article you read earlier that day or even earlier in the week will often provide you with some advice to help you get through your problem in a less stressful and more productive manner.

5. STAY ACTIVEtwo-people-running

The holidays can get busy, but if you choose a few days a week to get your blood pumping through 20 to 40 minutes of cardiovascular activity, you will reduce stress and improve motivation. Staying active has been proven to help boost creativity and productivity while reducing stress. This will help you seize the day, every day!

 

By taking small steps like the ones mentioned above you can improve your levels of motivation this holiday season. Staying motivated does not mean that you need to be a superhero. You simply need to keep on pushing through your daily tasks with a positive mindset. Use some of these tips and you will see a boost in your levels of motivation.
